Brad Paisley's New
Santa Cruz Guitar

Brad Paisley recently visited Artisan Guitars in Franklin, TN, to purchase a new acoustic. He had originally tried out a Santa Cruz OM/PW at Artisan back in November and had returned numerous times since to try other acoustics, but always found himself returning to our Pre-War Model. Our friends at Artisan tell the story best: "Brad Paisley finally pulled the trigger on the amazing Santa Cruz OM/PW we just got in. He played all of our instruments and the OM/PW was always the favorite. He loves the balance and the massive tone that the pre-war bracing combined with Richard Hoover's masterful tap tuning gives the instrument. He wanted a guitar that would record exceptionally well, and we have no doubt that he found it! We look forward to hearing this on some of Brad's upcoming recordings." Many thanks to Bill and Ellie Warmoth at Artisan Guitars for sharing the good news! They always have a wonderful collection of our guitars in stock, so be sure to visit their store or check out their extremely informative website.

Trois Spectacles: Alexandre, Richard & Jean Marie

Le Santa Cruz Guitare
Compagnie

In early May, the Santa Cruz Guitar Company welcomed their friends Alexandre Bouysson and Jean Marie Caroff from L'Atelier d' Alexandre, one of the premier guitar shops in France and an official SCGC dealer. Alexandre's visit served a special purpose, to further hone his expert luthier skills and fully prepare him for becoming the official Santa Cruz Guitar Company repair and serviceman in France. This will give Santa Cruz guitar players in France, as well as other neighboring European countries, a more convenient way to have their guitars serviced. Alexandre did not spend all his time with his head down at the bench, however. . . he got to experience Redwood trees for the first time, have an old fashioned BBQ with the SCGC folks and even get a tattoo from one of our many local tattoo artists. Talk about the true California experience!

Rob Ward of Rudy's Music Stop, NYC

Nothing compliments a guitar company more than when a dealer snatches up a new guitar for themselves before allowing it to hit the sales floor. SCGC recently received this flattering praise from Rob Ward, Acoustic Manager at Rudy's Music Stop in New York City. Rudy's had placed an order for a standard FS, and once Rob tested it out, he simply couldn't let it go. >>more

Custom Corner: Brazilian Firefly with
Long Diamonds and Squares Inlay

Welcome to the Custom Corner! In every newsletter, we will now be featuring a recent custom build, to help show more of the possibilities and options available for custom orders. Not all custom jobs involve complicated inlays and/or tone woods. It could be as simple as altering the measurements on the neck to better fit someone's hand size or playing style, adding a custom wood peghead overlay, changing to a V shaped or round neck, choosing a custom finish or adding a slotted peghead. Most of these options are quite affordable and truly make a Santa Cruz Guitar totally unique to its owner. >>more

Robb Report

(The Source for All Things Luxury):
"Upgrade your essenitals ~1929 Series"

"For over 30 years, Robb Report magazine has served as the definitive authority on connoisseurship for ultra-affluent consumers." Our beloved 1929 Series was featured in the June issue of the Robb Report's Collection Buyer's Guide.

So it floats, but does it have maximum sustain and complexity of overtones?

Listed in the 'Upgrade Your Essentials' section, which contains '23 better ideas for things you need - or want - for your home, work or playtime,' our humble guitar is nestled on page 16 of this story in the good company of other works of art, including a $63,000 executive desk, museum quality billiard cues and a Harley Davidson Softail Convertible. Mentioned for being 'one of the few consumer products that celebrate the Great Depression,' the 1929 is praised for doing so with 'a refined design that lacks excessive adornment' and having a sound that is 'complex and rich with overtones.' If you happen to subscribe to this ultimate high-end luxury magazine, or see it in the parlor of your local yacht club, be sure to look us up!
